Kylie Hillman did not disappoint with Brawl. Its a completely engaging and enthralling read with both heartbreaking and heartwarming moments.
Gabbi hasn't had an an easy life, she's had to grow up really fast. She's had to fight for everything good in her life. It's no surprise that she has a great deal of anger inside. Her home life is far from perfect and she's taken on the role of parent even though she is only seventeen.
Hooligan, has lost so much. He has a wounded heart and harbors a great deal of anger and guilt that he channels through MMA fighting and training.
I really enjoyed reading Gabbi and Hooligan's story, it's really well written and filled with emotion. The characters are extremely like-able, you can feel their heartbreak and mistrust. This story had quite a few twists and turns that kept my attention from start to finish. There is a great mix of romance, suspense and angst. A great cast of characters that keep you engaged from the very first page.
I thoroughly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a slow burn romance, or MMA romance. This book fits into several genres Young Adult Romance, Sport Romance and Contemporary Romance. I look forward to reading more from Kylie Hillman.
