WS Greer is a multi-genre author, and an active duty military member with the US Air Force. He’s been serving his country since 2004, and has been an author since his debut novel, Frozen Secrets, was released in 2013. WS was born to military parents in San Antonio, Texas, and bounced around as a child, from Okinawa, Japan, to Florida, to New Mexico, where he met his high school sweetheart, who’d become his wife in 2003. This was my first time reading anything by W.S. Greer, but i thoroughly enjoyed this book. Kingpin has a bit of everything romance, suspense and angst. It details a young boy growing up within the mafia world.
Kingpin is Dominic and Alannah's story. Dominic and Alannah met as children, when he protects her from a bully, time and circumstances cause the two best friends to drift apart.
A decade later, it's fate when they reconnect. Dominic and Alannah have very different lives. Alannah is a nurse and Dominic is a made man. They have an intense chemistry and the bond from childhood is still there after their time apart. Being aware of Dominic's life is quite different to being in the crossfire of bullets and revenge. Alannah has to decide if the love they share is worth it.
This book is really well written and keeps you enthralled with an engaging storyline. I really liked both Dominic and Alannah's characters they were very likeable. I enjoyed reading the book from a dual point of view of both the hero and heroine.
This book has a great mix of romance, suspense and angst. The story was full of twists and turns, danger, intrigue and violence that kept you thoroughly engaged and enthralled with this dynamic storyline.
This is the first book in the Kingpin series, and does end on a cliffhanger, I really look forward to reading the next installment.
