Jonquils for Jax, The Rousseaus #1 by Katy Regnery
Date of Publication: August 5, 2016
Did you fall in love with The English Brothers? Were you hot for the Winslows? Katy Regnery's New York Times bestselling Blueberry Lane series continues with The Rousseau siblings in Summer 2016!
Jacqueline "Jax" Rousseau is vivacious, rich, smart and beautiful…but that doesn't mean she's lucky in love: she's dated doctors, lawyers, actors and politicians who've all managed to end up disappointing her. In fact, she's on a self-imposed hiatus from love when she has an unpleasant run-in with her neighbor's gorgeous new landscaper, Gardener Lenox. Jax is not accustomed to gruff, ill-mannered men that can't be charmed, but when he saves her skin, she realizes that something about Gard intrigues her...and if she can find her way through the armor that surrounds his heart, she might finally find a love that won't let her down.

Jonquils for Jax, is the first book in the Rousseaus Series. I have been a fan of Katy Regnery's since reading Breaking up With Barrett, and I've loved each and every story of the English and Winslow brothers. I've eagerly awaited the start of The Rousseaus series and Jax's story. As i've come to expect from Katy Regnery, this heartwarming story is beautiful, well written and a well paced contemporary romance.
Home for her brother Etienne's wedding, Jax has left California and returned to Le Chateau to seek peace from the paparazzi who have been hounding her. After struggling to deal with the spotlight after her success as a movie producer, Jax struggles to trust others, but contrary to that she is also incredibly friendly and love-able. Although she's wealthy, Jax is anything but a snob. She is sassy, warm, caring and determined to find her own success doing something she loves.
Gardener Thibodeaux is a quiet, beautiful, closed off character. Due to an injury Gard, is unable to undertake his chosen profession, and falls back on the trade his father shared with him. I loved that he was such a relate-able character. He's not physically perfect and although he's an alpha he is incredibly gentle and it makes him all the more complex and endearing.
Gardener and Jax have an intense connection right from their first chance meeting. They are quite a few reasons including their difference in social standing that could derail their fledgling relationship. This pair are both slightly broken and damaged. Gard wears his damage on the outside, whilst Jax keeps hers hidden behind an outgoing veneer.
This book brings out all the feels. As you read this incredible story there are moments of smiles, laughter and tears. It's a wonderful escape from everyday life. I loved this story and the connection between Jax and her siblings and as much as I didn't want this story to end I cannot wait to read the next book in the Rousseau series.
