A Little Bit Wicked is the first title in The Wicked: Dark Knights at Bayside
series, but features many characters that have appeared in other series Ms
Foster has written. There are a lot of
side characters and at times it was a bit confusing trying to keep up with who
was who, and how they were connected to our hero and heroine.
As with many of Ms Foster’s books this title has strong themes of
family, friendship, love and community.
What on the surface appears to be an opposites attract romance, it’s
actually far from true.
Chloe Mallery and Justin ‘Maverick’ Wicked, both had childhoods that they would
rather leave behind them. Both Chloe and
Justin are loving, caring, compassionate and loyal and will do anything to protect
those they hold dear.
Chloe is cautious, resilient and independent and it honestly took me
several chapters to really become enthused in this story, and that was mainly
due to Chloe’s character and her dismissal of Justin, due to his connections
and appearance.
Justin is the adopted son of Reba and Rob ‘Preacher’ Wicked and a member
of the Dark Knights MC. He may appear a
little rough around the edges, but he has a heart of gold. He’s protective, flirtatious, romantic and
incredibly sweet.
Despite Chloe’s hesitations, this pair are inexplicably drawn to each
other and I thoroughly enjoyed watching their relationship evolve and look
forward to seeing Justin’s siblings and cousins find their happy ever after in future
additions to the series.
