I'm a huge fan of Laramie's writing in general, but I loved the characters, the friendship and family that evolved from the Moonshine Task Force series, which meant I was incredibly eager to read the next generations stories.  If you haven't read the Moonshine Task Force series, don't worry you can easily pick up Ransom and Stella's story, which is the first title in the Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team series,  without feeling lost in anyway.  If you are adore Laramie's work like I do, than there will be quite a few familiar faces in this series of second generation first responders.
Ransom is a friends to lovers romance, that much like the MTF series, has a strong theme of family and friendship throughout.   

Ransom is a police officer and K-9 handler.  He's such an endearing character.  That perfect blend of strong, sexy alpha, who is also an genuine, caring, and nice guy.  He's such a nice, respectful and honest guy, add to that he has a dirty mouth, he's down right swoon worthy.  

Stella is a great heroine.  She's sweet and sassy, but quite down to earth.  Although she's quite honest and can at times be quite blunt, she's very understanding, caring and strong, but laid back and goes with the flow.  I found her strength, confidence and support to be such endearing qualities. 

The chemistry and connection between this pair is undeniable, but it's their bond that is so unshakeable, having known each other their entire lives. Ransom is a sweet, tender, yet sexy story with just the right amount of action to keep you interested. 

Ransom was a wonderful story to kick of a new series, and I am even more eager to discover Kelsea, Nick and Cutter's stories in the future.
