Beckett Montgomery is a well-known detective in the New York area. He takes his job seriously and has little time for anything else.
During an investigation in to a series of break-ins of an apartment building on 32nd St., he finds himself getting a little too involved. What had always in the past been his job, now felt as if it was so much more.
He can’t seem to let go of the image of the beautiful, scared blonder face. He found that protecting her became all he could think of. Whatever it took, not matter the cost, he would provide her the security she needed.
He assured himself he would remain professional, he would dedicate himself fully to the task at hand and never would he mix business with pleasure.
Yet with each passing second Beckett spent in the presence of Shanelle Kramer, he found that the need for her only grew. Her beauty alone made him weak in the knees and that was only the beginning.
He had never desired a woman more.
Never felt the need to conquer, or claim, but she was different.
Maybe just one taste would end his addiction for Shanelle?

Heat is the second title in the Montgomery Men series, but can easily be read as a standalone. I haven't read the previous title and in no way felt lost when reading this book.
Heat is Beckett and Shanelle's story. This pair are incredibly endearing and have a great chemistry.
This book is a wonderful and emotional blend of romance, suspense, intrigue, drama, passion and heat with an element of angst.
Beckett, aka Beck is a NYPD Detective and as you'd expect with someone of his profession he is protective, career orientated, and a bad-ass alpha. He's also incredibly charming, kind, sweet and funny.
Shanelle, aka Elle is a nurse, a caretaker by nature she is kind, caring, compassionate and loving to those who matter most. She doesn't have a great deal of luck when it comes to her judgement when it comes to the opposite sex.
I absoloutly adored the side characters in this book, in particular Lex and Kimmy. Their banter was fun and humor filled and wonderful to add a sense of humor to a drama filled romantic suspense.
I found Heat to be a thoroughly enjoyable read. Once again CA Harms did not dissapoint! I look forward to reading more of the Montgomery Men series in the future.
