It was supposed to be fun.
A mutual use of each other's bodies.
To be a ruse to the world around us.
I wanted to be free from my ex, and he wanted to escape his.
One drunken night turned a joke into a life-changing moment.
He warned me not to fall for him, and I should've listened.
He intoxicated me.
He made me crave him.
He ruined me.
In the end, I'll never be the same.

4 Stars
Drunk On You is the fourth title in the Hope Town Series, and features Nicole and Shane. This pair of characters both appeared in the previous title When I am With You. I would recommend reading all four of the previous titles in this series, but in particular When I am With You. All the titles in the Hope Town Series, are connected to the Corps Security series, the connection with Drunk on You is not as strong as the previous titles as neither of the leading characters are related to the men of Corps Security.
What starts as a relationship of convenience, builds into so much more. Both Shane and Nikki have been burned by relationships in the past, and are hesitant to put their heart on the line.
Harper Sloan creates protective, loving alphas heroes, and in this Shane is no exception. Shane has demons from his past, and craves control in every facet of his life. He has quite a sweet and gentle side, but its well hidden behind his stern exterior and need for control.
Nicole is strong, smart, sassy and fun. She's incredibly endearing, and the exactly the type of female character that I find myself drawn to.
The attraction and heat between this pair is undeniable, and downright combustible.
Drunk on You is a completely engaging and entertaining story told in a dual point of view. I didn't quite love this one as much as the previous titles in the series, but still really enjoyed it and will be eagerly anticipating the next title in this series.
Unexpected Fate
Hope Town #1
Have you ever felt like you were living your life for a future that was predetermined? Like there was some bigger picture you just prayed you would someday see clearly? That picture has been crystal clear to me since I was old enough to recognize it for just what it was.
Or I should say recognize him for who he was.
I’ve loved Cohen Cage since I was a small child. He’s been my everything for the last twenty-two years. I’ve loved him through every girlfriend he’s ever brought home. Through his college years and then mine. I’ve loved him through two deployments. And ever since the day I told him how I felt, he’s acted like I’m a stranger.
My name is Danielle Reid, and it’s time for me to get my man.
Our future is an unexpected fate, and no matter what our parents, siblings, and friends say…it’s going to be worth every second of the fight to make it happen.

Bleeding Love
Hope Town #2
I've loved once. I gave everything that I had to that love. Blindly believing that nothing could ever take that feeling away from me. Away from us. And when my little world of happiness was ripped from my fingers, I felt a loss that still haunts me to this day.
Now I use that lingering grief as a shield to keep my heart from loving again. It's that fear that keeps me from letting anyone, except my daughter, get close enough to make it hurt. To make my heart bleed when I inevitably lose again.
Until the day I met Liam Beckett and everything I thought I had protected myself from was shoved back in my face.
He's on a mission to prove to me that a love worth having is a love worth fighting for.

When I'm With You
Hope Town #3
Nate:
It’s nearly impossible to be surrounded by love but not understand it. My parents, my sister, and just about everyone around us has no trouble accepting that love. To give your trust to someone else and believe they would die before hurting you. I’ve witnessed it—I’ve seen the power of it—but I’ve also seen the pain. Because for me, I’ve only loved someone I could never have, and my biggest fear is that by giving her my love, all I would do is ruin her. I should have tried harder, but I’m not sure I can because I only feel complete when I’m with her.
Emberlyn:
The only time I feel like I belong is when he’s near. His infectious smile warms me straight to my bones. Any insecurities I have vanish with just a wink from him. A sliver of his attention makes me feel invincible. But all it took was one drunken night of truths for me to lose everything I had begun to crave. Now, I’m not sure how to move on because I only feel complete when I’m with him.
He said I was too young. I said he was perfect. He said our families wouldn’t understand. I said we could weather any storm. He said he would ruin me. And he was right.
