She’s his brother’s nanny...and totally off-limits.In an effort to escape her overprotective mother, Cassie moved to Tampa to decide her future and claim her independence. When she lands a job as a live-in nanny to adorable twin infants, she’s convinced she’s on the right track.

Until she meets her new roommate: Tom. He’s an off-the-charts gorgeous neurologist (are they even allowed to be that sexy?), her boss' brother, and also her aunt’s best friend. There are way too many points of contact for them to take the risk...but Cassie can’t help but fantasize what contact with him would feel like.

Tom knows the stakes, but Cassie’s vibrant spirit strikes a chord in his heart and he can’t stay away. But just when they start to think they’re moving in sync, the unthinkable happens. Did taking the risk create a chasm too wide to bridge?

**Risky Move is a standalone book in the Tampa Suns Hockey series. This sweet and spicy full-length novel can be read on its own—no cliffhanger, no cheating and a guaranteed Happily Ever After.

You may enjoy meeting and following a growing group of friends connected by the Tampa Suns professional hockey team. Some characters are introduced in the Clearing the Ice Trilogy and Healthy Scratch.**

I haven’t read any of the previous books in the Tampa Suns hockey series, but felt I could follow this title easily.  But in saying that, although this title was well written, I struggled to stay interested, it’s an incredibly long book and with over seventy chapters I felt the plot line dragged.  As much as I liked the characters, this just wasn’t the book for me.

“I don’t like this.”

A hand went to the back of my chair, a head popped up between our two front seats, and that was announced. Mason was in the driver’s seat and I was in the passenger seat. Logan looked at each of us. He was wearing a distinct frown-smirk combo on his face as he said his piece.

Problem was, he’d been saying it since we left Boston, since we landed in California, and since we’d been in the rental and driving three hours past Fallen Crest.

It’d been said. It’d been heard.

We were now at the part where we wanted to murder my brother-in-law. Or, correction, where I wanted to murder my brother-in-law. Mason was stoic and driving. He was able to get in the zone and tune Logan out. Taylor was sitting in her chair, reading on her phone. She had the whole tuning-out thing too.

Not me. I was a mom, so somehow that meant I always had to be aware and alert, and now I was close to grinding my teeth and yelling for a Logan time-out.

Five minutes in the back, please.

Mason grunted. “Tough shit.”

Nice. Maybe he wasn’t so ‘tuned out.’

I looked at Taylor. “Can you keep him under control?”

She glanced up from her phone. “You know the answer to that question. You’ve known him longer.”

Touché.

I’m not sleeping with him.”

Taylor just laughed. “Shouldn’t have said that. He’s probably refraining from twenty different inappropriate jokes as I’m talking.”

Ahem.” Logan gave us both a look. “It’s because I love both of you—in different ways—and respect both of you that I’m not touching that. But Sam…” Logan leveled me with an aggrieved look, his eyebrows raised. “Can you watch what you say? Old Logan would’ve been all over that one, and can you imagine the innuendos?” He gestured to himself, his face tight. “But I’m here. Being polite—”

“Sorry. I thought since you’re older and in law school, you’d be more mature.”

“It’s like you don’t know me at all.” But he was grinning.

“Logan.” Insert some assertive tone here. I had to make my point. “We got a babysitter for the weekend. I got permission for a full weekend off from my training. Your brother is on a much-needed vacation before football training starts, and I have been needing Heather time even though I saw her a few weeks ago.”

I had a point. What was it? “So shut it, okay?”

That was my point.

“All I’m saying is that we were supposed to do the yacht. Nate and Matteo were up for it. Now suddenly we’re doing a camping thing. I’m not clear on the why?”

Mason glanced into the rearview mirror. “It was Nate’s idea. He said something about family research. What’s your issue? You like camping.”

“That’s when we were young. We did stupid shit back then like. We’re old now. If we go camping, I prefer it to be on things like yachts. Or we stay in a mega-mansion and our camping is napping by the pool. I like that type of camping.”

Taylor frowned at him. “Babe.”

He shot her a look, frowning slightly, but his face softened. He reached out, touching her leg. “It’s nothing. I’ll get over it.”

Good.

That was settled.

Two minutes later, it wasn’t.

-Crazy Good With a brand new EXCLUSIVE to this box set, EPILOGUE
-Set in Stone
-Time and Space
-An exclusive FIRST PEEK inside LEGACY

CRAZY GOOD BLURB:
Before there were bikers, or fighters, or even good old-fashioned jerks, there were Navy SEALs. They put the bad in badass because, well…it’s their job.

Navy SEAL Maverick Hart has everything. Women want him. Grown men idolize him. Little boys want to grow up and be like him. The job, the glory—it’s all his. Not because it’s handed to him…because he works hard for it. The second his sights lock on something, he owns it—or destroys it. Unfortunately he does both at the same time.

Windsor Forbes only takes calculated risks in her profession and in her personal life. After being left at the altar by the only person she’s ever loved, the very last thing she’s looking for is a relationship—especially the insane brand an arrogant Navy SEAL is offering. Hesitant, yet trusting to a fault, she gives in.

She knew she shouldn’t take the chance, especially a second time, but love is irrational and their love is perfect, infallible. Or so she thought…

The downfall to having everything is you have that much more to lose. A man like Maverick can’t have it all without something slipping out of grasp.

Crazy people perish for love.

Good people live for it.

Love doesn’t die. No matter how many bullets you put in it.

SET IN STONE BLURB:
There is something all too vague about second chances. What happens when your utterly perfect, first chance never really ends? What if it’s stolen?

Bull-nosed attorney Morganna Sterns knows what she wants. Self assured, powerful, and independent, she finds herself struggling to find balance between honoring what has been stolen, and deciding if her second chance is going to end just as tragically.

Steven Warner is a Navy SEAL with nothing to lose. His overt humor and charm paired with his lethal skill set make him a perfect catch--for the right type of woman. His world is littered with relationships, but only one stands the test of time. Competing with a ghost is hard. Especially when that ghost is a teammate: his brother at arms.

It’s not, “it is what it is.” It’s what you make it. What you, and only you decide it should be. Navy SEALs never make the same mistake twice.

Will Morganna?

TIME AND SPACE BLURB:
Several men did Navy SEAL Cody Ridge DIRTY.

Not only did they take his career and his fiancée, they stole everything but his life, and he barely escaped with that.

Cody is back.

As the boss of Ridge Contracting, his life is a blur of adrenaline and endless hours of work. Thriving and successful, he has never forgotten what was taken or who is to blame. His scars run as deep as the hatred in his heart.

Everything Cody lost will be his again. At any cost.

Lainey Rosemont can decorate anything. Your drab bedroom? She’s got it. A rundown shack in the middle of N.Y.C.? Lainey is the woman for the job. Unfortunately her past love life isn’t something she can Feng shui.

She has moved on from her relationship with Cody. It was over--literally buried in the ground. When he comes spiraling back into her life she’s not sure where their limits lie. With her nuptials to the swoony, heartthrob, Navy SEAL, Dax Redding fast approaching Lainey has decisions to make and a past of sinister secrets to confront.

Time changes everything and space apart turns lovers into strangers.

The only thing standing between happily ever after and fate is revenge.

I love a good military romance, particularly one featuring Navy SEALS, but I struggled to connect with these characters.  To begin with I was intrigued by Windsor and Maverick’s story, but I lost interest as the conflict between them seemed to drag on far too long.  Maverick had a tendency to be a bit of a martyr and I got a bit bored with the pace of their romance.

Morgana and Steve’s story is a friends to lovers story, and finding love after loss. I really liked Morgana in Crazy Good, but felt it was a tad odd that Windsor barely appeared in this title.  The flashbacks frustrated me, and a deceased character appears way too frequently for my liking.

Time and space features a love triangle, with a lot of unnecessary drama and angst, that really wasn’t to my taste and I was quite often left frustrated.

I started and stopped this title quite a few times, but it just wasn’t for me.

Hard Pass - Sara Ney

“Hard pass.”

That’s what the last girl I slept with said when she got her first sober glimpse of me. She laughed, walked out of my penthouse—and I never saw her again. It doesn’t matter that I’m a rich, professional athlete; what mattered was my face.

Beauty might only be skin deep for some—but I know better.

“Pay up.”

That’s what the last girl I spoke to said over the phone when I made her an offer she couldn’t refuse. Desperate to sell a set of rare baseball cards, she’s clever and entertaining. I’m instantly smitten, but nowhere ready to reveal myself. Thank god she has no idea who I am—or what I look like.

I’m a professional athlete--how hard can playing the love game be?

Bring It Home - Toni Aleo

Bring It Home by Toni Aleo is LIVE!

Boon Hoenes only has three goals in life.

To make Posey Adler his wife, to win the Stanley Cup for the second year in a row, and for Shea Adler to like him.

The first, he’s got on lock.

The second, he’s well on his way.

And the third…

Well, two out of three ain’t bad.

Bring It Home is the third title in the Nashville Assassins Next Generation, a novella featuring Posey and Boone, and is a continuation of their story.

I love how Ms Aleo manages to merge all the characters from her various series together and we get cameos from many familiar faces throughout this title.

Posey and Boone’s story is quite emotional and their relationship has it’s share of ups and downs which make this pair all the more relatable.   You go through a gamut of emotions reading this title from happiness to sadness, to anger and satisfaction.

I will be eagerly awaiting the Ms Aleo’s next release.

Reckless Memories - Catherine Cowles

I loved him before I knew what the word meant.

But he was never mine to love.

Reckless Memories, an all-new emotional friends to lovers standalone from Catherine Cowles is releasing May 12th, and we have the first peek inside this not-to-be-missed romance.

Reckless Memories Cover

Prologue
Isabelle
PAST
“I would rather sit on a hill of fire ants in my underwear while eating ghost peppers.” I leaned against the counter and popped a cracker into my mouth. My nose wrinkled. It was one of those multigrain ones that tasted more like cardboard than actual food.
“Isabelle Marie Kipton, I have had just about enough of your snarkiness, young lady.”
But I wasn’t a young lady, at least not in my mother’s estimation. Young ladies were poised and put-together and never questioned the dictates their parents set for them. I questioned everything, never went along easily, and was far too disheveled to gain any sort of approval from my parents.
I stared unblinkingly at my mother, not giving an inch.
“You will sit at that dinner table, and you will be composed and polite to our company.”
I let out a snort. “Like their daughter is composed and polite to me?” Lacey was more like the Devil incarnate, but she wore her pretty, polite mask perfectly. So, my mother might as well have thought she was the Second Coming.
Violet looked up from where she was arranging a platter of hors d’oeuvres. “Lacey snaps back because you bait her. Maybe you two are just more similar than you’d like to admit, and you ruffle each other’s feathers.”
I glanced up at my older sister. The perfect image of the young lady my parents wished I would be, with her impeccably styled hair and future-doctor composure. She might as well have been a stranger. When had that happened? I searched my mind for the date the switch had been flipped, when Violet had gone from friend and confidante, the sister who’d always had my back, to someone I couldn’t even begin to understand most of the time.
“You can be friends with her all you want, Vi. I’ll take a pass on having vicious snakes in my circle.” I glanced at my mother. “Or sharing a dinner table with them.”
Red crept up my mother’s neck and seeped into her face. “What is wrong with you?” I stayed silent. The list of what my mother found wrong with me would take us all night to get through. “That’s it. Hand over your phone.”
My fingers tightened around the edge of the counter. “Are you seriously taking my cell because I don’t want to have dinner with someone who’s awful to me? Who bullies my friends, and is cruel to everyone who isn’t in her little gang of followers? I’ve tried to tell you time and again that she’s not who you think she is.”
My mother held out her hand. “Perhaps if you kept better company, these things wouldn’t be an issue. You are who you spend time with, Isabelle. And those girls you run around with are not what I want for your future.”
My back teeth ground together as I slipped my hand into my back pocket, pulling out the device she’d requested and placing it in her palm. No phone meant no emergency line to my best friends, to Ford, to the people who kept me sane amidst the insanity that my mother brought about. I kept my face carefully blank. I wouldn’t give her the satisfaction of knowing that she’d impacted me in any way. She didn’t deserve to know she had that power.
“Since you insist on acting childish, you’ll be treated as one. Your curfew is now nine p.m.”
I gave her nothing. I was already a prisoner in this home full of people who’d rather judge me than try and understand where I was coming from.

I loved him before I knew what the word meant.
From skinned knees to first dates and everything in between.
But he was never mine to love.
I settled for friendship, even though I always wanted more.
That was before.
Before he ripped my world apart and didn’t bother sticking around to help me pick up the pieces.
I knit every last shred back together all on my own.
And I’ve all but forgotten his name.
Now, he’s back, and everything is torn apart once more.
But he’s not the only one doing the tearing this time.
And there might be no stopping the person who has it out for us both.

Grill - Leah Sharelle

Title: Grill
Series: Wounded Sons Series
Author: Leah Sharelle
Genre: Military Romance
Release Date: April 25, 2020

Marshall ‘Grill’ Webber grew up without a father. His mother died when he was only six years old, leaving him to be raised by his aunt.

Not knowing who his father was and watching his mother slowly give up on life, shaped him into the man he was today: a proud soldier, a more than competent sniper and a fiercely loyal member of Team FIVE. Grill went about living life the best he could with his mates, and the family he’d found in the Wounded Souls. Life was pretty darn good, until a mercy mission to help with the worst bushfires in Australia’s history led him to a night with a gorgeous brunette, a night he would never forget.

Adeline Welham was a loner; she believed her life was better that way, loving people wasn’t something she knew how to do.

Volunteering to help burnt and injured animals was her duty and she proudly did anything she could to help. One night she offered herself to a sexy soldier with deep chocolate eyes and an even deeper voice. It was only meant to be one night, who knew it would follow her home and turn her quiet life upside down?

Two people, both stubborn, both looking for something to make them feel complete. The only thing was, could it be the same thing?

Grill is the third title in the Wounded Sons series.  Marshall Webber aka Grill is an protective alpha, who’s not afraid to say what he thinks.  He’s also patient as comes with the job of a sniper.

Addy is a veterinarian.  She’s kind, caring and compassionate, and left quite vulnerable from her childhood.  She’s wary of love and has difficulty trusting her own feelings.

The plot of Grill and Addy’s story is unique and has quite a few twists and turns, and leaves you eager for the next addition to the series.
