As Calamity's newest resident, Everly Christian thought life in small-town Montana would be dull and tame--and she needs a little mundane after the last few chaotic years. But one night, boredom drives her to the local bar, where she finds herself sitting beside a handsome and mysterious artist.
The man is anything but dull and tame, especially in the bedroom, and when she steps out of his shower and overhears his conversation, life gets interesting again.
Reese Huxley needs a wife.
And why shouldn't Everly be the bride?
She's got her reasons for agreeing to the hasty nuptials--reasons she's keeping to herself. As long as she can stop herself from falling in love with her husband, she'll make it out of this sham marriage in one piece. But Everly has a weakness for wayward men, and the more Hux pushes her away, the more she realizes this bluff is anything but a lie.

I adored
the Bribe, and couldn’t wait to dive into The Bluff and it didn’t disappoint. Hux and Everly’s story is an emotional and engaging
story, that I highly recommend to anyone who loves a small town romance. I highly recommend reading The Bribe before
diving into The Bluff as there are several spoilers revealed throughout this
title.
This pair
of characters are complex, yet flawed and completely endearing. It’s their faults that make them all the
more realistic and relatable. The Bluff is an emotional story that raises
feelings of disappointment, frustration, and fear side by side with love, happiness
and joy. Whilst opposites in many ways
this pair also complement each other perfectly.
Reece Huxley
is a gruff, brooding, and enigmatic artist.
He has a history that the residents of Calamity won’t forgive or forget
and it’s left him closed off, hurt and wounded and a loner who enjoys
solitude. He’s also a devoted father to
his sixteen daughter despite the fact that he has very limited access to Savannah.
Everly Christian
is the best friend to Lucy the heroine featured in the Bribe. Everly is a strong and resilient but has
lost her way after becoming the victim of a stalker. She’s friendly, kind, compassionate and
confident except when it comes to those she loves. Then she has deep seated vulnerabilities.
The chemistry
between Everly and Hux is intense and passionate, and their story is dramatic,
fun and angsty. Their banter and
interactions are fun, playful and snarky but also heartfelt and at times
hurtful.
I’m
generally not a fan of marriage of convenience stories but I loved this story,
and eagerly await future additions in the Calamity Montana series.
