Love & Hockey - Monty Jay

LOVE & HOCKEY

By Monty Jay

Release Date: July 23

NHL’s golden boy, Bishop Maverick, knows all too well how a haunting past can taint your future. It seems his entire life all people have done is leave. So what does a man do when he has so little? He pours everything into the only thing that he has left. Hockey. This sport has brought him a family, hope, something to work for, but what was the one thing he never expected for it to bring him? A green-eyed, wild child with a soul that brings him back home.

Valor Sullivan was raised on the ice by a single father who inspired her love for hockey. With a mouth that would make a sailor blush, and fiery red hair she is a force to be reckoned with on and off the ice. There doesn’t seem to be anything hard work won’t get her. Well, everything but him. Bishop is her Endgame. The only problem? He’s eight years older and one of her father's closest friends.

Fate blurs the lines of past and present to pull these two together. The only question is...

Were they always meant to be? Or damned from the start?

Love & Hockey is a standalone, age-gap, romance. It deals with sensitive subjects some may find triggering.

Love and Hockey is the first title in the Fury series and the debut title of Monty Jay.  This title is phenomenal for a debut author, it’s well written, with characters that are not only complex and endearing, but layered and flawed.   It’s an emotional and angsty friends to lovers, sports romance with an age gap.

Bishop is a rookie when he meets his Chicago Fury team mates, ten year old daughter for the first time, and is the start of a genuine friendship filled with deep understanding, affection and an undeniable connection.

Bishop and Valor share more than their love of hockey.  They are both driven and determined individuals, who are haunted by the loss and abandonment of their pasts.

Bishop is a sweet, strong and damaged alpha, whilst Valor is a feisty, bold, sassy and strong heroine.  I love that she lacks a filter, and has a tendency to speak her mind, and that she’s not afraid to go after what she wants.

I loved watching the friendship between this pair grow, evolve and develop into a raw, passionate and intense connection.  Their story is full of ups and downs, but I was completely captivated from the very first chapter, and would have read this book in one sitting if I hadn’t started it before going to work.  Monty Jay’s writing will have you feeling all the emotions, and I will be eagerly awaiting the next title in the Fury series.
