Cross Checked is the second title in this series, although each one can be read as a standalone, the majority of the story line runs concurrent to the first title. Brayden and Karla both appeared in Hat Trick, and I was quite looking forward to reading their story. It's a fast paced read, at times a little too fast in my opinion, as there were large gaps in the time frame that made the story a bit disjointed. I actually wanted more of the story of their relationship and more interactions with Brayden's team mates and Karla's group of friends. The characters were like-able and I enjoyed their chemisty. I love a sports romance, and particularly a hockey themed romance, and as much as I enjoyed this story and the characters it didn't quite hit the mark for me. I'm sure anyone who enjoys a sports romance will still enjoy cross checked.
