Havoc is the third title in the Moonshine Task Force series and features Havoc aka Holden the man in charge of the task force. This has got to be my favorite of the titles in the Moonshine Task Force. Although you could read this title as a standalone, Havoc and Leighton's story really starts in the previous title.
The characters are strong, complex and endearing. Holden epitomizes an officer of the law. He is protective, loving, loyal, honorable and tough. His appeal doesn't end there he is one intelligent, dedicated, determined, sexy, tattooed, bad-ass alpha.
Leighton Strather grew up on the wrong side of the law, her family being notorious moonshine distributors. Leighton is damaged, she's endured so much in her life, and she's relatively young compared to Holden. She's kind, understanding, considerate, empathetic and intelligent. I loved seeing her character grow, and develop and gain confidence over the course of this book.
What starts as a marriage of convenience ends up being so much more evolving into a hot, steamy, sweet and passionate story of romance and making choices between loyalty and love. This story is a slow burn romance, but its completely engaging and captivated my attention, and I couldn't put it down.
I love that the previous characters appeared so frequently within the story line and played an integral part in Leighton's development as a character. I will be eagerly anticipating Ace and Menace's stories and cannot wait for more of the Moonshine Task Force.
