Logan is the second book in the Preston Brothers series. If you haven't read Lucas, seriously do yourself a favor and one click that book now. I just knew after reading Lucas which was one of my favorite books of last year, that Logan would be an emotional minefield of epic proportions, and Jay McLean didn't dissapoint.
Logan is not a sweet, sappy read, it raw and it will go through a complete gamut of emotions. This is a beautiful story, that is both heartbreaking and heartwarming, and I literally didn't want to put it down. Jay McLean has this uncanny ability to make me cry, after reading Logan I feel completely wrung out. I literally felt so many emotions, at times I was giggling, and snickering at his antics, and at others I had tears silently streaming down my face, obscuring the view of my kindle.
These characters are complex, enigmatic and oh so well developed. This is more than a story of a self destructive, wild young man with a lost, broken and haunted soul. This is a story of family, love, and hope!
Logan is much like a twisted and tangled up piece of string. In order to be unraveled, he needs the right person, with the right amount of patience and persistence, in this case being Miss Red.
As much as I am completely drawn to all the Preston Punks, Lachlan stole my heart, he is just gorgeous! The banter and interactions between the Preston siblings is so full of love, fun and humor, it's incredibly heartfelt and realistic.
Logan is such a beautiful, heartfelt, angst filled read that I cannot recommend highly enough! Another five star read and I will be eagerly anticipating more of the Preston Brothers in the future.
