Imperfect Heart is the fourth title in the Combat Hearts
series, but can easily be read as a standalone.
I have read the previous titles in this series, and thoroughly enjoyed
each one. On a side note, I’m absolutely
loving the new revamped covers.
Imperfect Heart is Zoe and Tim’s story, a contemporary
romance with a touch of intrigue and suspense, and strong themes of family and
friendship.
Zoe is starting over after leaving the military and her
cheating ex. She’s independent, strong,
determined and resilient, with a
tendency to blurt out every thought that enters her mind. She’s quite organised and loves to make lists,
something that makes her all the more realistic for me, and quite relatable.
Tim is the brother of Jase, who appeared predominantly in
the first title in the series Stitched Up Heart. It took a few chapters before I was able to
recognise this connection, as it’s been awhile since I read the previous titles
in the series. Tim is a protector by
nature, and it suits his job as a police officer perfectly. He’s kind, caring, compassionate, but fair
and has a big heart. Overall a sexy,
likeable alpha.
This pair share an undeniable chemistry, and several of
their interactions had me laughing out loud.
I loved seeing the characters from the previous titles
appear within Tim and Zoe’s story and will be eagerly awaiting additional
titles in the Combat Hearts series.
