Every time I pick anything written by Kaylee Ryan I know I'm in for a emotional and heart warming read. Kaylee's books are generally low in drama and angst, and that is the case with Blaine and Aubree's story.
Blaine is a race driver, who drives dirt late model racers. As I'm an Australia, and never heard of this type of racing, I had no idea what this was (thanks google). Blaine can be quite cocky, arrogant, stubborn and egotistical, but underneath all the bluster is a really big heart. He's determined and driven and has very high standards and goals for himself, and the last thing he wants is a romantic entanglement to get in the way of his plans.
Aubree is hard working, strong, independent, and brave, yet at times quite naïve, and shy. She struggles to form relationships after surviving a painful childhood, she doesn't give her trust easily.
What starts as an enemies to lovers romance becomes a heartfelt story, that family is what you make it. The sexual tension and chemistry that Aubree and Blaine share is undeniable, and I adored the side characters.
Another lovely, sweet and endearing story from Kaylee Ryan, that's perfect to escape into for an afternoon or evening. I will be eagerly awaiting her next release!
