Bayside Desires is the first book in the Bayside Summers series and features Rick and Desiree. The Bayside Summers series, is a spin off of the Seaside Summers series, and features a crossover of characters. Those familiar with Seaside Whispers, will be aware of Rick's character, and his connection to younger sister Mira, her husband Matt and his nephew Hagan, who also appear within this title.
Bayside Desires is a small town, beach side romance, set in Cape Cod. Rick and Desiree are an endearing pair of characters who embark on a summer fling. Their story is one of healing and acceptance, both have insecurities and abandonment issues, that stem from their past of loss and loneliness. Both are trying to discover their place within their family and career, and decide if they will follow their head or their heart.
Overall this is an incredibly sweet romance, with a perfect blend of heart, heat and humor and at times is quite emotional. The chemistry between Rick and Desiree is intense, yet believe-able. Although this story has an insta-love feel to it, its well paced and flows really well.
I thoroughly enjoyed Rick and Desiree's story and look forward to Bayside Passions, in the Bayside Summers series, which features Dean and Emery. I recommend Bayside Desires to anyone who enjoys an insta-love story, a small town romance, or contemporary romance.
