I’m over this year, and I’m over relationships. I’ve learned that the only person you can count on in life is yourself. Moving forward, I’m living for me. Working toward standing on my own two feet, that’s my goal. Funny how meeting him changed my path.
It’s been years since I’ve been back in this small town of West Virginia for more than a day or two. Spending time here brings back a lot of fond memories. When I stopped by an old friend’s bar, I was expecting to grab a drink and catch up. What I didn’t expect was her.
We share an undeniable attraction, but we continue to fight it.
Until one night in Vegas changes everything.

Kaylee Ryan has yet to write a romance that I haven't enjoyed. Hey, Whiskey, is a slow burn romance, packed full of emotion, heat and heart. Saylor and Rhett's story is a heartwarming and tender contemporary romance, mixed with humorous, fun and sexy moments.
One of the things I loved most about this book was the back and forth banter between the characters. It's full of flirtatious remarks, sexual innuendo, bickering and sarcasm.
The characters of Saylor and Rhett are endearing even though they are opposites in a lot of ways. Saylor is a survivor, strong yet vulnerable and a lot of the times doesn't recognise her own worth. She's had quite a lonely upbringing, and is alone in the world and homeless. Rhett is wealthy and has the most supportive, loving family, whilst Saylor was raised in foster care. Despite his wealth Rhett is pretty down to earth, fun, charming, funny and sexy. At times he can be obnoxious and sarcastic, but he's an incredibly like-able character.
The chemistry between Saylor and Rhett is undeniable and quite intense.
I loved the secondary characters in this title Rhett's family and friends add depth and complexity to the story line.
I found Hey, Whiskey to be an appealing, well written title that I thoroughly recommend to anyone who enjoys a contemporary romance, with a strong themes of family and friendship. This title has a strong focus on the fact that family is what you make it, you don't have to be tied by blood, it's those who support and love you despite your faults and insecurities.
