Lani Lynn Vale's books are some of my favourite romantic suspense titles, although infused with romance, intrigue, suspense and emotion there is usually an undertone of humor that I love.
Having read nearly every title Lani has written I was quite familiar with Reagan who is the daughter of Bennett Alvarez the hero of Kill Shot, and I was very eager to read her story. Too Bad So Sad, is the fifth title in the Simple Man series, but can be read as a standalone. For anyone who loves Lani's work you will see quite a few familiar characters, and some I expect will be appearing in future titles.
This pair are quite opposites, Tyler is a rule follower, whilst Reagan is quite compelled at times to bend the rules, if not flat out break them.
I absoloutely adored Reagan's character she's unique, fun and quirky. She's shy, quiet and reserved, at times it comes off antisocial, but she can also be quite sassy and is not afraid to speak her mind. A strong, intelligent female who is feisty, passionate and loyal when it comes to anything that is of importance to her.
Tyler Cree is a hot, alpha cop with a huge heart although he has a tendency to hold back when it comes to finding someone to share his life and heart with after being burned in the past. He's likes to take charge both in and out of the bedroom.
The connection this pair shares is intense and undeniable, and as much as they fight their attraction, their banter is argumentative, witty, fun and when it's not flirtatious and loaded with sexual innuendo they are bickering with each other as another form of verbal foreplay. The love scenes this pair share are passionate, steamy and erotic.
Overall this title is well paced, and full of twists and turns that kept me glued to my kindle. Probably my favourite of this series, although some points were a little to close to other plots for my liking. I will be eagerly awaiting the release of Lani's next series The Bear Bottom Guardians MC series.
