Coy Mason is a jerk.
If there is one truth that Bellamy Davenport knows, it’s that. Hands-down. (Well, that and the fact that she didn’t mean to hurt him. Physically. Coy can’t be hurt emotionally because he doesn’t have a heart.)
Coy is not just the small-town, literal boy-next-door. He’s a heartbreaking, womanizing, mischief-making (and delicious) man and was all of those things well before he became a hot-shot country music sensation.
He’s a dream standing in her doorway with no shirt, messy hair, and a ‘Do you wanna?’ grin. But he’s also a nightmare for her heart and she knows it.
Their enemies-to-lovers relationship always ends the same way—heavy on the enemies, light on the lovers.
So why is she still standing there?
Ever since
reading Restraint, I’ve been eager for more of the Mason Family and was eager
to read Redemption when I discovered it was going to be Coy’s story.
Bellamy and
Coy’s story is a fun, engaging, raw and emotional read. This pair share a history with a relationship
that has developed over the years from childhood neighbors, to best friends, to
young lovers and finally enemies.
Bellamy is
a strong, resilient, sassy, and independent young woman who is caring for her sick
and widowed father. She fiercely guards
her heart with a tough exterior, but underneath is a soft, tender and cautious
heart.
Although
Coy can be a cocky, arrogant music star, he is also charming, sweet, loyal and
family focused.
The banter
throughout Reputation is witty, fun, flirty, sassy and humorous. I loved the relationship between the Mason
siblings and their parents and the chemistry between Bellamy and Coy is undeniable,
and the tension oozes off the page.
I look
forward to seeing the remaining Mason brothers find their happy ever after,
with Boone’s story being next.
